What Is Rain Period?
The Changma (rain period) is Korea's main precipitation period and is part of the East Asian monsoon system. In summer the region which contains Korea is affected by stationary front that is formed by cold wet air masses of north and warm moist tropical air masses of south. The area across the wires of the strong inflow of moist air and rain southwest of increasing amounts over a long period of time. This phenomenon is the rain period in Korea. In China, it is called Meiyu, Japanese call Baiu. |

It is caused by two air masses with different characteristics. When they meet each other, they make a stationary front. In Korea, it is called "Changma front".Changma front makes the rain period. |
